Across the UK we have seen a huge rise in domestic abuse and physical abuse of children. We want to ensure that you are aware of where and how to gain support across the North West.

Domestic Violence Support

A national helpline can be contacted if you feel at risk of Domestic Violence; 24/7 National Helpline.

If you live in Manchester and are concerned about Domestic Violence you can contact The Pankhurst Trust/Manchester Women’s Aid. They can provide advice and guidance for those suffering from abuse and for those who have previously suffered abuse. Outreach sessions can include group work sessions, children’s play, educational sessions, and safe home services.

Women’s Aid is available in various localities across the North West including, Trafford, Tameside, St Helens, Wigan, Stockport, and parts of Cheshire to find your nearest service please click here.

Male victims of abuse can get help and advice from Men's Advice Line.

Greater Manchester Abuse Helpline is available to anyone who feels they are at risk.

Greater Manchester End the Fear is available to provide more information about Domestic Abuse, you can also get support here if you feel you are causing someone else harm.

Safe2Speak Domestic Abuse Service can be accessed if you live in St Helens or the surrounding areas. Here you can get advice and guidance and support to access a safe place.

Barnardo’s are able to provide support for the whole family, to find out more details about the support they can offer you can access their family hub here. Many of the articles on Barnardo’s website directly relate to the Coronavirus Pandemic, the website has quick links to mental health services for young people and parents/carers.

Addiction Support

Turning Point work with people who need support with their drug and alcohol use, mental health, offending behaviour, unemployment issues and people with a learning disability. Find support here.

Drinkaware is an independent charity which aims to reduce alcohol-related harm by helping people make better choices about their drinking.

Gambleaware provides information to help people make informed decisions about their gambling. They will help you to find out more about gambling and what safer gambling means, to understand and recognise the risks of gambling, and show you where to go for further information, help and support should you need it.
